What you need to know as a first-time rider!

... we know how intimidating it is to put yourself out there and start a new hobby or sport. Especially starting something you may know very little about. Something that seems impossible to get into if you weren't born into it. Our very own founder, Brooke Spruill, did not grow up with horses. Her family is not a "horse family". She, to this day, is the only one in her family that is involved with horses. And guess what, she didn't start until her 20s! Getting into horses is not impossible, and it's ALWAYS worth the fear you may feel at first! The joy these animals bring is something you will get hooked on from day 1. So, did we convince you? If so, here's what you need to know.

​Weight limit:​ 300lbs

What to wear: Jeans, boots (or any closed toe shoe), long hair should be tied up, no super loose clothing (sweatshirts and jackets are fine), no big jewelry such as large hoop earrings.​

First few lessons: You will receive a lot of information during your first lesson- safety, grooming, tacking up, stretching your horse, and finally some riding. You don't have to remember everything! We will continue to go over the information each lesson until it becomes second nature. The first few lessons will be set up like this: 25 minutes grooming and tacking up, 30 minutes riding, 5-10 minutes untacking. Once you get quicker with the grooming and tacking up process, less time will be spent on it therefor more time will be spent riding.

Your trainer will be with you the whole time to answer any questions.

Lesson quantity: You are more than welcome to book as many lessons a week as you'd like, but we only do 1 hour lessons at a time.
